Positive Intelligence Quotient (PQ) measures your mental muscle and its ability to allow you to reach your full potential. The theory of Positive Intelligence was created by Shirzad Chamine (2012). It is based on neuroscience. 200 different studies were analysed and found that higher levels of PQ lead to success in work, relationships, and well-being. PQ percentage is the amount of time your brain is serving you rather than sabotaging you. The more you build mental muscle (neuroplasticity), the more sage experiences enable you to perform better at work, and in relationships and experience less stress therefore can achieve more fulfillment in life. What I like about this type of coaching, is that you get to experience the 5 sage powers in our sessions which allows you to bring these into the workplace and activate the sage power to achieve what you want. You won’t be overwhelmed in an emergency, you will have the ability to go to self command, switch off your saboteur interference and take on a laser focused next step. This in turn reduces your risk of making an error, causing patient harm under stress. One of the biggest fears of frontline staff is being unable to think under pressure. This way of building mental muscle (sage) can completely change your life.
Daily practice of positive intelligence exercises some include just 10 second activity. Perhaps 15 mins a day in total is needed to make a difference. The exercises enable you to strengthen your ‘sage’ brain and weaken the ‘saboteur’ brain. The sage can be found in the thriving brain in the prefrontal cortex. Your ability to focus, experience positive emotions, calm, joy etc is found here. In comparison to the survival brain in the brain stem, limbic system and parts of the left brain. This is where your saboteurs live, exposing you to stress, anxiety, negative emotions and childhood patterns you learnt to keep you safe. These no longer serve you as an adult.
